Lodestone agent Conner Thorne, on a forced medical leave from MI6, is handed a job he thinks is going to be a waste of time. The latest client wants him to help her find Cleopatra's lost tomb. Her father who is currently in a home suffering from Alzheimer swears he found the tomb but cant remember where. With Conner's special gift she wants him to try and locate his last location my touching artifacts he would have last touched while at the tomb.After finally agreeing to follow her to London to the museum that houses these artifacts the harrowing adventure begins which leads them to Egypt. They are constantly dodging bullets and car crashes from unknown assailants.
Conner reminded me of a stuffier James Bond. He was plenty broody and had plenty of bad guys after him from his last MI6 job that went bad. He was also very sexy with his accent.
Isis Magee reminded me of Evelyn from The Mummy. She was very one tracked minded in her pursuit of finding the tomb and getting the recognition her father deserved and kept finding herself in situations that Conner would have to rescue her from.
The Egyptian locals were realistically described by the author, you almost felt you were there alongside them through all their adventures.

Once again Cherry Adair has pulled me away into world of intrigue, danger and romance. She is brilliant at weaving a plot that makes it hard to put her book down unless its to stop and think over what's happened and try to figure out what's coming next. She makes her characters so real that I worry about them even when I'm not reading. My only complaint is that the ending felt rushed. Maybe I just didn't want it to end. I hope we see more of these two in upcoming stories. Great read!!
I love how strong Ms Adair makes her female characters! Isis Magee is thrown into situations no one would want to share, with a virtual stranger, a hot, sexy stranger ) She travels to Seattle to ask for helo from Lodestone and gets Connor Thorne, a MI5 agent on medical leave.
The two travel to London, then on to Egypt in pursuit of her father's dream of finding Queen Cleo's tomb. They are shot at, high speed chases, left for dead in the desert, and trapped in a cave that turns out to be a tomb. Though it all Isis doesn't complain and keeps going just to help her dad! She is a great character and Connor isn't so bad himself ;)
Connor Thorne is on medical leave and working for his friend Zak Stark when he meets Isis Mcgee. These two spark off each other from the start and before long, the two are hot on the trail of the legendary tomb of Cleopatra, dodging bullets, fighting bad guys and their attraction to each other.
From Seattle to London and finally Cairo, this is non stop action, fantastic chemistry between Thorne & Isis and a great addition to the Lodestone series. All Cherry Adair fans will enjoy it and eagerly await the next in the series.
This is my first book by Cherry Adair a friend of mine put me onto her and could not be a more perfect first book for me to read. First of all Egypt, and lost tombs, fighting for ones life, dodging bullets and car chases all because a daughter called Isis, which could nothave been a better name, wanted to prove her father was right about the whereabouts of Cleopatra's missing tomb. Then there is Thorne a broken MI5 agent with his own issues, tough as they come, trained and dangerous and injured finding himself right back where he started from in England and Egypt instead of been in Lodestone HQ Seattle recovering from injuries that nearly killed him though did die and brought back with a special skill. Just loved it, could not put it down, love the way they bounced off each other, the banter and wit while trying to stay alive.It was a fast packed moving book that just took you a long for the ride. Great read and fun and they should make this into a movie. Can not wait to read more of your books Cherry )
Everyone knows a special agent is guaranteed to protect you with his life at all costs no matter the outcome to himself, but have you ever stopped to think what goes on inside the head of such a man and how and what exactly he is to do "to get over it" if no one ever stops to take the time to give him some much needed TLC.
In the latest read from the beyond brilliant Cherry Adair she not only digs into the mind of a man on a mission but also a man who has suffered loss, despair and true physical pain of the unspeakable inhumane kind. The author also gives us the one woman that can turn it all around for him and crack the door to his soul.
Sexy- I'll- strip-you-naked-and-take-you-to-Egyptian-heaven Connor has suffered and I mean truly suffered pain at the hands of a complete psycho and it has landed in behind a desk where he is simply bored out of his mind as being out in the field is where this hero truly shows his stuff.
But along with the pain and psychological turmoil it also brought him the ability to touch any object and take you straight to it's original location, totally awesome!
Enter the ditzy, controlling and temping Isis she has to uphold her fathers name by finding the tomb of Cleopatra and she will stop at nothing even if it means being relentless in every way possible !
The characters of Connor and Isis were both so addictive I could not stop reading I simply had to keep going to find out more about what exactly happened to Connor to make him the man he is and just why Isis is so set on completing her mission.
I loved how the author let Isis change Connor's perspective on life and through layer after layer being revealed the author showed that really listening to someone can make all the difference to truly discovering what that person is hiding and facing in life.
The backdrop setting was incredibly descriptive and I could touch and feel the ancient Egyptian history, see the colours and feel the textures. The dialogue was amazing it was so thrilling I could truly feel the scorpions crawling around me whilst deep in the hidden tombs.
The sexual heat level of this one was simply of the charts ladies, you will be left breathless and begging for you very own M15 agent to sweep you off your feet and into danger! The author also gave me some much needed info on the Egyptian culture which better explained a lot about the setting.
This author has once again proven she can take a mystery add a kick ass hero team him up with a woman of dreams and give a reader the ride of a lifetime!
